The Town Of O Carballiño
The first meeting with the O Carballiño is the town itself.
Every tourist must go through its main streets to the Praza Maior, where the Town Hall of O Carballiño and the monument to the figure of the pulpeira (woman octopus cook) are located, showing the high connection of this town to the octopus and this profession.
At the centermost part of the town you will discover the Church of San Cibrán or “Igrexa Vella” and you should continue walking through the town to the Alameda, where you will find the Tourist Office and a leisure area for children.
Mandatory stop is the Praza da Veracruz, with the temple of the same name, being one of the main tourist attractions of the town for its unique architecture.
Already in the less central part you can visit the greenest areas, the gardens of the Great Spa of O Carballiño and the large Municipal Park, more than 32 hectares and place where the most famous party of this town is held, O Carballiño Octopus Fair.
