September festivals
Main Square and Praza do Emigrante
September Festivals are celebrated in honor of Saint Ciprián, the town’s patron saint. The festivities last five days, stretching into the early hours of the morning, practically without a break. Bagpipe groups, local bands, orchestras, brass bands, celebrity performances, fireworks, fairground attractions, and sporting competitions, among other activities, transform the landscape of O Carballiño, even its traditional character, leaving no room for monotony.
The main days —the fair on the 16th and the feast of Saint Ciprián on the 17th— are the busiest, with the highest concentration of activities and people. The fire shows and performances by popular bands and singers, always at night in the Main Square and Praza do Emigrante, are especially captivating.
