Praza Maior
A benchmark of the town center, in which the Town Hall is located and looking towards it, the monument to the “pulpeira” (woman octopus cook), a profession highly linked to this territory, together with its most recognized product, the octopus.
It is especially adorned during the most famous festival of this town, Octopus Fair or Festa do Pulpo (second Sunday of August). Colorful looms decorate this square and the tentacles of a large octopus stand out from the Town Hall.
